Subject: How Soundcast saved my project Author: CalvinA (05:54AM, Jan 06, 2009 - last edited 05:55AM, Jan 06, 2009) I am the project manager for a UK home automation company in the UK, named Smartcomm. One of our projects was to install a fullly automated Crestron system into 34 luxury apartments, Charters in Sunningdale.
One of our clients bought a roof garden to go with their new apartment and requested for audio to be heard and controlled in this area. How would we do this when the building is built and there is no hope in hell of getting cabling to this area? This is where the Soundcast Outcast product saved the project. From the Crestron CNX-BIPAD8, the audio went into the 3.5mm jack on the iCast transmitter base. This allowed the audio to be heard from the garden area. The control of the system was done via the Crestron WPR-48 weather proof remote controlling source selection, source control and volume adjustment from the Crestron CNX-BIPAD8. The client was extremly happy, and the sound was so good, I had to go out and get the Soundcast Outcast myself. All I need now is an excuse to take it with me to parties and other such events. Its Loud, the base response is very good, a long battery life. I couldn't be happier. |
