Subject: latency Author: ManuR (11:20AM, Apr 05, 2010) Hi,
I am a DJ and I intend to use a icast or subcast system between the output of my mixer and the audio system of my clients. I read that the lowest latency possible is around 15ms but I am affraid to heard a little echo between my headphone mix and the speakers. Does someone try this configuration ? Thank you very much Manu |

I wouldn't recommend iCast for this type of application as you will get a 64ms latency , but SubCast is definitely better (only 15ms). I have done tests comparing the sound from a pair of headphones connected to the source against the sound from the playback device connected to the SubCast receiver and it is pretty decent, meaning that you can not hear the delay. If you have an extremely well trained ear you would probably notice the difference but even so, it won't confuse you when you're doing your DJ work. |

Thank you very much for your reply. So I will definitely go on a subcast system. Many thanks again Manu |
